Streaked seerfish (Scomberomorus lineolatus) is a saltwater species recorded in Singapore, Malaysia.
Scientific name: Scomberomorus lineolatus · Water: Saltwater
Size: up to 94 cm
The streaked seerfish is a scombrid that feeds primarily on fishes. Unlike the narrow-barred and spotted seerfishes it is not encountered in very turbid water or where salinity is much reduced. Besides midwater trawls, purse seines and trolling, it has markedly different local fishing seasons: October to November along the Thai coast, November to February on the west coast of Malaysia, March to July in the south and February to March and August to November on the east coast, and May to September in India alongside other seerfishes. Its range covers the Indo-West Pacific from the west coast of India and Sri Lanka east to Thailand, Malaysia and Java, without extending further into the East Indies. It reaches about 94 cm fork length, commonly 70 cm. It supports commercial fisheries and is a game fish, in the low price band, with a trophic level of 4.5, moderate to high fishing vulnerability at 48 of 100, very high climate vulnerability at 82, and medium resilience.
