About

The peacock bass (Cichla temensis) is a South American cichlid introduced to Malaysian waters, where it has become the country's most popular urban lure target, common in reservoirs, mining pools and slow river reaches. Keen-sighted and aggressive, it smashes small fish and fights with violent head-shakes and jumps. It is a year-round fish best at dawn and dusk; although non-native, it is now a mainstay of the local scene.
