About

The patin (Pangasius nasutus) is a large catfish of Malaysia's major rivers, holding in deep pools of the main channels and lower reaches and making seasonal migrations. Omnivorous with a carnivorous bias, it grows fast and is an important food fish sold widely in river markets, as well as a popular river-angling target. It is caught year-round and is most active in deep main-channel water when the monsoon swells the rivers.
