About

The Japanese seabass has an elongated, laterally compressed body and is a classic euryhaline predator of estuaries, sheltered bays and shallow coastal water, often pushing into freshwater. Fast and hard-fighting, it takes both lures and live bait and makes repeated runs when hooked. In Hong Kong it is in season from autumn into winter, chasing small fish near river mouths and bridge piles as the water cools.
