About

The brassy chub is a dream species for Taiwan's rock anglers, living on wave-battered reef coasts and outer rocks where it schools to graze on seaweed and seagrass. Its range is circumtropical, running from the eastern Pacific across the Pacific to the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, and through the eastern and western Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Found year-round along southern and northeastern reef shores, it is most plentiful and largest from winter into spring. Big fish fight explosively and demand precise weed-bait technique.
