About

The blackhead seabream is a spiny seabream that lives over shallow sandy-mud bottoms, rocky reefs and estuarine brackish water, and it tolerates very low salinity. Wary and quick to drop a bait, it is one of Hong Kong's premier rock- and shore-fishing targets. It feeds most actively from late autumn through early spring, when lower water temperatures and the winter-to-spring spawning season make the fish fat and willing.
