This Privacy Policy explains how SwellAngler (the "Site") handles information when you use it. It applies to this website only and to no other site or service.
By using the Site you acknowledge the practices described below.
We do not collect your name, email address, telephone number, postal address or payment details. We do not set our own cookies.
For aggregate traffic measurement the Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, Inc. It records aggregate counts only, such as page views, the referring page and page timings. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint devices and does not build a profile of you.
We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which pages are used. Cloudflare acts as our processor under its Data Processing Addendum, and data may be processed outside your country under the Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Unsampled records are kept for seven days and are then reduced to aggregate figures.
Cloudflare does not serve the measurement script to visitors in the European Union, so visitor data from the EU is not collected.

To display marine and weather conditions, the Site requests data from external providers. No account identifier is sent; the requests contain only the information necessary to answer them:
The Site requests access to your device location only when you press the "My location" button on the map. No request is made otherwise, and the Site does not read your location in the background or over time.
Where permission is granted, the coordinates are used solely to centre the map and display a position marker inside your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers, are not stored and are not logged, and they cease to exist when the page is closed or reloaded. Declining the request does not restrict any feature of the Site.
You may withdraw permission at any time through your browser settings. In that case, a spot may instead be selected manually on the map or through the search function.
Advertising is not currently displayed. Should advertising be introduced (for example Google AdSense), the advertising network may use cookies or device identifiers to select and measure advertisements, and this policy will be updated before it takes effect. Where consent is required by law, it will be obtained in advance and a means of refusal will be provided.
Information held in your browser remains until you delete it by clearing your browser data; retention is under your control. Server-side components do not retain your queries beyond short-lived technical caching.
The Site is served over HTTPS. As no personal data is held by us, no personal data register exists to be compromised. Any API credentials are held server-side and are never delivered to the browser.
If you are in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), and in particular Data Protection Principle 6, confers rights of access to and correction of personal data. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation confers rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection.
As we do not hold personal data about you, most requests may be satisfied by clearing this Site's browser data. You may nevertheless contact us and we will respond within the statutory period: 40 days under the Ordinance, or 30 days under the GDPR.
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
This policy will be revised whenever our practices change, and the "last updated" date above will be amended accordingly.
